How can I revise my book once it is published?

Introduction

You can make changes to your book and its metadata whenever you need. For some type of change you may have to pay a small amount as file revision charges, for some you wont have to. Learn more about it below

Changes in Metadata

For making changes in metadata, you will not be charged anything. You can email the Pre-Media team at publish@writat.com along with the ISBN number of your book and the changes required. The team will process it and get back to you with updates.

Changes in Books Files

To replace an existing books file with a new one you will have to submit the file to our Pre-Media team. They will replace the existing file of your book with the new one.

This type of change will attract a charge of US$ 50.00 / INR 4000.00 as file replacing charges.

Changes in Book Cover

To replace an existing cover file with a new one you will have to submit the new cover file to our Pre-Media team. They will replace the existing file of your books cover with the new one.

This type of change will attract a charge of US$ 50.00 / INR 4000.00 as file replacing charges.

Changes in Edition

If your book has gone through various changes in its content, in this case you need to publish the book again as a revised edition. For this we will have to issue a new ISBN to it.

A new ISBN is required when :

1. You make significant changes to any part or parts of a published work, such as adding, moving, or removing blocks of text and/or chapters.

1. You change the title or subtitle of a previously published work.

1. You substantially change the cover design (to the extent that customers would view your book as a new product).

1. You create and publish your work in a new product format (hardcover, paperback, eBook, etc.).

1. You create and publish your work in a new trim size (change the book’s dimensions).

1. You create and publish an eBook in a different file format such as EPUB or PDF.

1. You publish with another publisher or under a new imprint

For such changes, we suggest you publish the book as a new edition through the authors dashboard.

Once the book is published, we will not republish the same if there are no changes in the books name, contributor details or changes in metadata. In case there are minor changes to be done in text inside the book or on the existing cover, you will be charged US$ 50.00 / INR 4000.00 per changes.
