Setting the Retail Price of Book and eBook

Setting the Retail Price of Book and eBook

Introduction

The author has complete control to set the retail selling price for a book. The price depends on the printing cost of the book and the distribution cost associated with it.
When you upload your script to the author's dashboard, in the pricing section you will be provided with the printing cost of your Printed books, paperback & hardback (if selected). The dashboard will also mention the suggested minimum and maximum retails prices.
As an author, you will have the option to set the price that you wish.

Calculation of Authors Earnings

The earnings are calculated with a very simple formula

Earnings = Retail Price - (Printing Cost + Distribution Cost)

Below is an example where
Retail price - US$ 24.99
Printing cost - US$ 5.85
Distribution cost is - 45% of the Retail Price

Earnings = 24.99 - ( 5.85 + 11.24)
Earnings = US $ 7.9
As an author, you get 80% of $7.9 and we retain 20%
