Using Styles for your Book

Introduction

We strongly suggest you download and use our templates to write your book. Using the template will make sure that there are no errors in the file and it will go through our check smoothly.

Working With Styles

When you download our template for writing your book, we suggest you use the styles created by us. Using these styles ensures that the whole book has the same kind of formatting and layout throughout.

What are Styles

Styles are a set of formatting that you can use for your text, tables, lists etc. For e.g if you have five chapters in your book and want that all chapter has the same font, size, spacing etc then instead of changing them individually, just create a style and name it as "Chapter Head". Once this is done just highlight all the chapter names and click in this style. This way all the chapter names would be formatted in the same manner. Not only this, in case you have completed the book and you wish to change the style of how your chapter names look. You don't need to go to individual chapter names to change them, just fine-tune the style and all the chapter headings would change automatically.

How to Create or Customize a Style

On Your, MS Word Home Tab Look for the Style Bar
On the Style, Bar Click on Create a New Style
Name the Style and Click Modify
Customize the formatting as you desire
Click ok. You will see this new style appear on the styles menu
